Certified Healthcare Enterprise Architect (CHEA)

The PACS Administrators Registry and Certification Association (PARCA) introduced a new certification level in 2012 as part of a revitalization process for certification levels for professional Healthcare Imaging and IT administrators. The highest level of certification, which serves as capstone certification over the CPIA or CPSA and CPEMS certification is the Certified Healthcare Enterprise Architect (CHEA). With the expansion of enterprise solutions and the integration of diagnostic imaging informatics into the core Enterprise Medical Record, the PARCA Board of Directors recognized a need to acknowledge the unique skill-set required to implement, manage, and troubleshoot healthcare enterprise solutions which includes knowledge of the imaging modalities, a good understanding of the big picture and systems interaction.
